Modular free standing shelving system / wall unit consisting of two separate modules, a secrétaire with storage and a narrow bookshelf. They can be assembled connected or separate. Made by MDK furniture (Belgium) in the 1960's inspired by Scandinavian design.
Consists of 4 tall metal shelf brackets and 2 shelving sections with open shelves and closed cabinets, including one desk module with a glass display case, drawers and a closed cabinet and the narrow shelf unit consisting of an open shelving cabinet, single shelf and single drawer. The shelves and cabinets are adjustable in height and interchangeable, making it a costumizable and flexible system.
Very good vintage condition, the shelves and cabinets are are in good overall condition but with some scratches and dings consistent with age and use, some uneven sun fading on the lower drawer. The plastic hinge cover is damaged on the inside of the desk unit but the hinge itself is not damaged and still functioning. The open cabinet on the narrow section had originally glass sliding doors but these are missing from this system.
